One of the few celebrities I follow on social media is Sophia Bush. A couple of days ago I was scrolling through and saw this post about #dressinglikeawomen, with a side by side photo of her in a military looking outfit and a dress. One of the main reasons I follow Sophia is because of how passionate she is about world issues and women’s issues. When I saw this hashtag I knew it had to do something with Trump and now is a giant twitter trend.
According to a report by Axois, President Donald Trump has some dress requirement for his staff. His style preference included preference about both women and men, but the women across the country are taking a stand to Trump’s comments about #dresslikeawomen.
“If you’re going to be a public person for him, whether it’s a lawyer or representing him in meetings, then you need to have a certain look,” a source who has worked with Trump told Axios.
Men were also included in this brief, they were told to be “Sharply dress” in solid colors, with a tie preferably made by the Trump brand, but I tie made by Brooks Brothers or Armani is okay.
A source who was working on the Trump campaign told Axios the president wants women to “dress like a women”. The source didn’t expand much, only saying “neat and orderly” but adding that campaign staff that were female felt pressure to wear dresses.
With this information, twitter responded with the photo of women who #dresslikeawomen.
